Career
A Career Rooted in Purpose and Design
Abhijeet Samant was an architect with more than three decades of experience and a founding force behind ARCORD Architects and Aasamanta Realty. He was a mentor who led with warmth, and lived by his favourite film’s philosophy:
“Zindagi badi honi chahiye, lambi nahi” — life should be meaningful, not merely long.
His design approach was grounded in practicality, creative problem-solving and clear communication, with a strong backing of technical knowledge. He placed strong emphasis on buildable solutions, rigorous detailing and clear documentation, coordinating closely across various teams to ensure that the design intent was realised accurately. This combination of insight and practical problem-solving earned him the confidence of consultants, contractors and clients across decades of work.
This approach to design continues to influence the way Aasamanta Realty plans and delivers residential projects today. His unfortunate passing in December 2024 was a significant loss for us, but the principles he established remain central to our work.

A Partnership That Shaped the Firm
In 1989, architects Abhijeet and Ruta Samant co-founded ARCORD Architects, establishing a long-standing professional partnership built on shared values, straightforward communication and a design-first approach.
This foundation naturally evolved into Aasamanta Realty in 2014, where they applied their architectural discipline to real estate development. Today, Aasamanta Realty is led under the proprietorship of Ruta Samant, who continues to uphold the standards, clarity and design philosophy that she and Abhijeet developed together over more than three decades of practice.
Music
The Musical Influence Behind His Design Approach
Music was a significant part of Abhijeet’s identity and remained one of the ways he stayed connected to creativity outside of work. He had a particular fondness for the mandolin and spent many years engaging with musicians who shared that interest. His involvement in community-led initiatives such as Mandofest reflected his belief in keeping artistic traditions active and accessible.
For Abhijeet, music offered a sense of rhythm and structure that naturally aligned with his approach to architecture – creative, thoughtful and attuned to balance. It was a personal practice that complemented his professional life, shaping the way he understood flow, proportion and harmony in design.
Legacy
A Legacy That Continues to Guide Us
While Abhijeet is no longer with us, his influence remains deeply woven into the fabric of Aasamanta Realty. The design standards, principles and values he established form the backbone of Aasamanta Realty’s approach to redevelopment and residential planning.
Today, under Ruta Samant’s leadership, along with the Aasamanta team, the principles remain central to our work. Each residential project, every completed redevelopment, and every new beginning carries forward his philosophy: build with honesty, design with purpose, and live fully.
For those who knew him, his laughter still echoes in our corridors. For those meeting Aasamanta Realty for the first time, his legacy is in every thoughtfully designed home, every promise kept, every project delivered with integrity.
